Il 3 febbraio stavo realizzando uno shooting per la RedBull Media House con una camera Phantom.
Stavamo girando per realizzare un nuovo corto metraggio per iniziare l’anno ed aumentare il livello della ripresa portandolo a circa 2500 fotogrammi al secondo, in modo poi da poter realizzare un super slow motion.
Il kiteboarding con il passare degli anni è diventato sempre più tecnico così abbiamo pensato che usare una camera Phantom sarebbe stato l’ideale per mostrare ogni piccolo dettaglio e movimento e rendere così possibile al cervello elaborare con più precisione quello che avviene durante il movimento.
Stavo facendo alcuni trick durante una sessione sul kicker e durante l’esecuzione di un buon Mobe 5 sono atterrato leggermente troppo avanti ed il mio ginocchio destro ha ceduto.

La diagnosi è che ho strappato al centro il mio legamento crociato anteriore e ho preso qualche strappo importante tra il menisco mediale e il laterale.
Grazie al team RedBull UK ho avuto a disposizione per le cure alcuni dei migliori specialisti al mondo. Non potrò mai ringraziarli a sufficenza per tutto l’aiuto ed il sostegno che mi hanno dato al fine di avere un ottimo e completo recupero.
4 giorni fa, il 24 febbraio abbiamo preso la decisione di operarmi di nuovo nel Regno Unito, il giorno dopo ero già su un volo di rientro a Londra e 4 giorni dopo (oggi ndr 28 Febbraio) sarò operato da uno dei migliori chirurghi specializzato sulle ginocchia di tutto il mondo, che tratta i più importanti giocatori di calcio che militano nella Premiership.
Grazie per tutto il sostegno dei miei amici, dei familiari e degli sponsor. Sarò di ritorno prima di quanto crediate.
On the 3rd of February I was shooting for the RedBull Media House with a Phantom Camera. We were shooting for a new short movie to start the year and stepping up the level with some 2500 frames per second super slow motion action.
Kiteboarding has become more and more technical as the years have gone on so I thought the Phantom would be ideal to show every detail and movement so that it’s possible for the brain to process just what is going on.
A few tricks in I hit a kicker and went for a sizeable Mobe 5, I landed a little over the front and collapsed my right knee.
It turns out I tore my ACL in half and took a few major tears through both medial and lateral Meniscus.
Thanks to the RedBull team in the UK I have got some of the worlds best specialists treating me. I cannot thanks them enough for all the help and support they have given me for the best possible chance of a full recovery.
4 days ago on the 24th of Feb the decision was made to operate back in the UK, the next day I was on a flight back home to London and 4 days later (today) I will be put back together by one of the best knee surgeons world wide who deals with the top premiership football players.
