About Adeuri Corniel

In 2007 the world cup came to Cabarete, Dominican Republic. One of my brothers, Ariel Corniel , was competing in this event. I went with my family to see him compete and to support him .  That was the first time I’ve even heard of kiteboarding…

In 2008 I started going to the beach. One day, me and some friends from  school decided to start helping tourists. That was a good opportunity for us, because they started trusting us and sometimes let us borrow their kites. This is how I found out I really enjoyed practicing this sport and that I wanted to get far away with it. That is how my story starts.Training at the beach every day for the next 3 years is what led me to compete in my first event called “Kiteboarding 4Kids” where I ranked 1st place. This made me really think about what I was going to do with my life. My goal was always to be on the World Tour and become a World Champion like my brother Ariel Corniel.

In 2013 I took part of a second event and won 1st place. More motivation started to kick in. It was time to  compete with the PRO LOCAL RIDERS and that was just when my older brother Raul Corniel started organizing an event called DR OPEN KITEBOARDING. In 2014 I won 2nd place and that was when my first sponsor contacted me.

I had my first opportunity to travel and to discover new places thanks to this one special person who changed my life completely and let me start competing internationally.

In 2015 I competed at the European Championships where I got 1st place and later on I went to the Youth World Championships where I got second by just a few points.

My career had a dramatic shift and with really high potential I was able to enter the Elite League on the tour among the best riders around the world. One of my latest and really important results was winning a Gold Medal in TTR racing during the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2018, which led me to receive the prize as Athlete of the Year! After ranking 2nd Worldwide in 2018 and 2019, I am now here to pursue my dream and become a World Champion. This is just the beginning.
